The swellex bolt (Inflable friction bolt) is composed of a double-layer special-shaped tubular body made from seamless steel pipes, welded pressure-resistant sleeves and anchor plates. The finished product's diameter is approximately half than the pre-processed one. This anchor bolt features full-length anchoring, strong adaptability and immediate load-bearing capacity.

After installed into the holes, high-pressure anti-corrosion water slurry is injected into the bolt body. Under the action of high pressure, the wall of tube expands to approach its original state and undergoes permanent deformation, firmly embedding itself in the rock mass and exerting a strong compressive force on the surrounding rock. Meanwhile, during its expansion process, due to the diameter changing from thin to thick, there is a certain amount of contraction along the axial direction of the swellex bolt, thus tightly pressing the anchor plate against the rock surface and generating pre-applied stress.
